Machines and technology are taking over the world and for this, I have no complaints. At Creator, robots are making the burgers! During their pilot period, you had you reserve a ticket for a specific day to snag a place in line, but now (starting Sept 2018), they’re fully open to the public – Wednesday-Friday between 11:30AM and 2:00PM.
I went with a co-worker who was just as excited as I was to check this out. We got there a little after 11:30AM and there was already a line out the door. I think we only waited about 10-15 minutes which wasn’t too bad.
How it Works
[Pics taken off their Yelp page]
After you place your order and pay (though a human with an iphone), you get to watch the robot make your burger. A bun from the tubes at the top of the machine slides over and while it slides down the machine, it’s getting toasted! The buns are then pushed down the conveyor belt where a patty is cooked and placed on the buns, tomatoes, onions, pickles and lettuce are sliced to order, condiments are dispensed and seasoning from their 12 spice spice-rack are being sprinkled on. The whole process takes about 5 minutes a burger with it making 130 burgers in an hour.
As of now, they have 4 burgers with sides (fries, salads, drinks and even dessert!). I heard that they’re going to add and rotate different burgers. All the burgers are only $6!
What I Got
I got the Tumami burger with a “creamy oyster aioli with hints of smoke, shitake mushroom sauce, pickles, onions and lettuce”.
When I took my first bite, I thought “not bad…” and as I kept eating, I thought “damn… this is actually pretty good”. The bread was toasted perfectly, the patty was seasoned and cooked well, the vegetables were fresh and the aioli had a great flavor. I have no idea what kind of pickles were in my burger, but they were so crisp and perfectly tangy. I wish I could buys some on the side. Overall, I thought it was very well made burger and it’s such a steal at $6!!! I would totally go back for another one.
